A Baxter engineer contacted Quadra-Tek™ to request a quote
on a component part for a medical pump that delivers IV medicines
to patients. The specifications required that the part be
molded in separate pieces and then be sonically welded together.
Our engineers believed the part could be redesigned and molded
less expensively as one piece. A quote was submitted with
our proposed design changes. As the only vendor to offer this
innovative redesign solution, Quadra-Tek™ was awarded the
job.
Result: Quadra-Tek’s redesign resulted in major cost savings
for Baxter, especially as quantities of 1.3 million parts
per year continue to be produced.
