Ciba Corning, now Bayer Corporation, needed a supplier for
a cylinder-shaped part to be compression-molded from potassium
chloride (KCl) powder, which is used as a cleaning solution
for blood analysis equipment. Since, technically, KCl is not
a plastic, the company wasn’t sure if it could be produced.
Result: Quadra-Tek™ built a separate molding room for production
because of the corrosive nature of KCl, which allowed this
part to be molded efficiently. |
